Our subconscious mind is an amazing and almost a magical tool of our body. One can influence the quality of life just by believing in yourself and thinking positively. Positive thinking gives you strength, hope, faith, confidence, contentment and peace. It does take some amount of effort to inculcate a positive approach in your life, but once you do life’s perception changes forever.
Here are some ways to identify negative traits in your daily life:
-Exactitude – If you are a perfectionist yourself, then stop expecting people or life as a whole to be perfect or according to your expectations. A perfectionist tends to set idealistic goals and always is dissatisfied even if a small thing goes off beam, this encourages pessimism.
-Extremities – Some people usually have a very rigid way of thought – it’s either black or white, there is no gray! So on the whole they tend to focus on the faults of a person or an occurrence and conclude it to be bad or hopeless – they rush in their judgement based on this express categorization and fail to look at the big picture.
-The Silent Spectators – Pessimists don’t help out in situations rather they list out 100 possibilities how things can go wrong and eventually when things don’t go as planned they point out that one point they had mentioned already among the hundred, and feel that they are always right!
-Grumble and Groan – Pessimists are always grumbling or groaning about something or the other – they usually hate everyone, including self
Few steps to becoming a positive YOU!
-Improve self image in your eyes first.
-Write down what u feel – erase extreme words like ‘never’ or ‘worst’ and add a ‘but’ in the end of the sentence and focus on something good.
-Recall at least 5 things you are thankful for each day
-Think – if something did not happen then it was for the good, there is always something better in store for you
-There is light at the end of the tunnel – believe in it
-Treat pitfalls as a learning tablet only to improve it for the next time
-Make use of positive words in your speech and give yourself chances. Do not underestimate or doubt yourself to face challenges – just believe and go ahead – something good should come out of it.
-Don’t predict failure – just strive to win till the end
-Don’t fret about something too much, grumbling n groaning will not get you anywhere – you will laugh about it someday – there is always a tomorrow.
-Put on a smile and use positive reassuring words for a chat with your inner self – talk to you as you would talk to your best friend – don’t criticize and be hard on yourself, be supportive and generous.
You need to be conscious and aware of the thoughts which race in your mind in trying situations. Make a conscious effort to replace negative and undermining thoughts, with positive and encouraging ones.
